Parameters
as_ofstringoptional · query- Knowledge cutoff as a UTC date (YYYY-MM-DD): the response reflects what was known by the end of that day. Defaults to now; cannot be in the future. A date from before the dataset's knowledge history returns 422 point-in-time-unavailable naming the earliest one, which GET /v1/datasets lists as earliest_as_of.
idstringrequired · path- Stable public record ID.
formatstringoptional · query- Response format. csv returns the data rows with a header row, for spreadsheet functions such as IMPORTDATA; nested fields become dotted columns and lists one JSON array cell, the next page cursor is returned in X-Next-Cursor and meta.errors in X-Meta-Errors. A result without rows is the header row alone, listing the documented fields of a row. Default json, or csv when format is omitted and the Accept header ranks text/csv above JSON; a format the Accept header does not admit returns 406 not-acceptable.
jsoncsv
Response fields
Returns data as an object. All example values are illustrative.
idstring- Record identifier, stable across revisions.
titlestring- Headline.
summarystring · null- Summary the source supplies and licenses for republication: an official publisher's feed description, or the teaser a paywalled article arrived as (is_paywalled). Null otherwise, including articles delivered with their full text; no summary is generated.
contentstring · null- Licensed article text. Null when unavailable under the source agreement, when the source delivered a paywall notice or teaser instead (is_paywalled), and for articles published more than 90 days ago except each instrument's ten newest.
is_paywalledboolean- True when the source delivered a subscription notice or a teaser ("Continue Reading") in place of the article text; content is then null and the teaser, if any, is in summary.
urlstring- Link to the full article on the publisher's site.
publisherobject- Outlet that published the article.
published_atstring- published at
updated_atstring · null- Instant the publisher last updated the article. The connected sources do not report it: always null.
languagestring- BCP 47 primary language subtag: the feed's declared language, else detected from the headline and text (English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese or Dutch). und when it cannot be determined: short or mixed text, another language, and articles published before early July 2026, whose text was no longer held when detection began. Over 99% of articles with a determined language are English.
authorsarray- Author names. The connected sources do not report them: always empty.
topicsarray- topics
instrumentsarray- Listings the article is tagged to, among the markets OHLC covers. Empty for general market and macro news and for articles about companies listed only elsewhere (about one article in ten).
sentimentobject- sentiment
Response metadata
Responses include meta.timezone. Dataset responses include next_cursor; health and exports have their own metadata. Request tracing uses the X-Request-ID header.
When something goes wrong
An empty data: [] is a successful query with no matching records. Invalid symbols, permissions and malformed parameters produce an RFC 9457 problem with an actionable detail.
Plans
Requires news.read. Access, recency and history depth come from the plan definitions the API enforces.
| Plan | Access | Recency | History |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | Not included | — | — |
| Developer | Not included | — | — |
| Pro | Included | As published | Not date-bounded |
| Commercial | Included | As published | Not date-bounded |
| Scale | Included | As published | Not date-bounded |
History is how far back a plan may request. How far records actually go for a symbol is history_from in dataset coverage. Nothing is real-time. Compare plans
