Crypto prices for USD pairs,
in the same API as your stocks.

Crypto pairs such as CRYPTO:BTC-USD use the same endpoints as stocks: daily bars from /v1/eod, delayed quotes from /v1/quotes, and coin metadata, supply and market capitalization from /v1/crypto/assets. Crypto is included on Pro, Commercial and Scale.

One symbol format

CRYPTO:BTC-USD, CRYPTO:ETH-USD. Pairs are quoted in U.S. dollars and use the same request parameters as stocks.

Daily bars on UTC days

Each bar covers one calendar day in UTC, weekends included, closing at 23:59:59.

Delayed quotes around the clock

The most-traded pairs are snapshotted every 10 minutes, seven days a week.

Asset data

Circulating, total and maximum supply, market cap and fully diluted market cap per coin.

Symbols and sessions

Crypto pairs trade on the CRYPTO venue and are written CRYPTO:BASE-QUOTE, for example CRYPTO:BTC-USD or CRYPTO:ETH-USD. Each pair has a stable instrument_id like any stock listing, and accepts the same from, to, as_of and format=csv parameters.

Crypto trades around the clock, so each daily bar is one UTC calendar day, from 00:00:00 to 23:59:59, including weekends and U.S. holidays. date is that UTC day. The market calendar returns the crypto venue's day for any date from 2010-07-01 on.

Volume is in dollars

For crypto pairs, volume is the value traded in the quote currency, U.S. dollars, not the number of coins. A BTC-USD daily volume of 32802609097.92 means about $32.8 billion changed hands that day. Divide by an average price if you need an approximate coin count. Where the price moved during a bar but the source reported no volume, volume is null: the amount traded is unknown, not zero. A flat bar with a volume of 0 is a day without trades.

Mixing crypto and stock data

Stock bars are dated by exchange-local trading date and skip weekends and holidays; crypto bars are dated by UTC day and include every day. When you join CRYPTO:BTC-USD with ARCX:SPY by date, expect crypto rows with no matching stock row on weekends, and decide whether to drop them or carry the last stock close forward.

No adjustments

Coins do not split or pay dividends the way listed shares do, so crypto pairs have raw prices only. adjustment=split and adjustment=total_return do not apply to them.

History

On October 3, 2026, the coverage endpoint reported daily history for CRYPTO:BTC-USD from 2011-01-01. Other pairs start when they began trading. Pro can query 15 years back and Commercial and Scale the full history. Check any pair with GET /v1/datasets/eod/coverage?symbols=CRYPTO:ETH-USD.

Delayed crypto quotes

The leading pairs by market capitalization are quoted about every 5 minutes around the clock, and other pairs about every one to two hours. Crypto quotes are not delayed, but they are snapshots, not a streaming feed: last_price is the last trade in the newest snapshot, last_at is when it printed, and bid and ask fields are null.

Coin supply and market cap

GET /v1/crypto/assets returns one row per coin the source keeps a profile for: name, code, website_url and whitepaper_url, circulating_supply, total_supply, max_supply, market_cap and fully_diluted_market_cap in U.S. dollars, and the observed_on date. Not every listed pair has a profile, so there are fewer assets than pairs. Supply fields are null when the source reports none, and max_supply is null for coins with no fixed cap. network and contract_address name a token's chain and contract where CoinMarketCap gives them, and are null for native coins. Use effective_date to read an earlier snapshot.

Questions, answered.

What is the symbol for Bitcoin?

CRYPTO:BTC-USD. Ethereum is CRYPTO:ETH-USD. Every pair uses the CRYPTO venue and a USD quote currency.

Is the Bitcoin price real-time?

Close to it, but not streaming. Crypto quotes are not delayed; the leading pairs are snapshotted about every 5 minutes, so last_at is usually under 10 minutes old. Daily bars cover complete UTC days.

How far back does crypto price history go?

Bitcoin's daily bars start on 2011-01-01 in our data. Newer coins start when they began trading. Your plan sets how far back you can query: 15 years on Pro, everything on Commercial and Scale.

Why is crypto volume so large?

Crypto volume is reported in U.S. dollars traded, not coins. Stock volume, by contrast, is in shares.

Is there a free crypto price API on OHLC?

No. Crypto starts on the Pro plan ($149/month). The Free plan is limited to seven U.S. stocks and ETFs.

A little JSON.
A lot of possibility.
